A catch-all functionality that is activated for a certain mailbox will permit you to receive emails that are sent to addresses that do not really exist. To state it differently, if you delete an email address and someone still sends a message to it, or to any misspelled address under the same domain, you will get the email in the catch-all mailbox. Using this feature means that you will no longer miss an email for any reason whatsoever, which could be vital in case you run some company, for instance. Since you may start receiving unsolicited bulk messages, you can combine the catch-all option with anti-spam filters in order to get only authentic messages in your inbox. Only one single mailbox per domain name can be a catch-all one and email forwarding cannot be enabled for a catch-all mailbox.
Catch-all Emails in Shared Web Hosting
In case you host a domain name on our cloud web hosting platform and you have a shared web hosting account, you’ll be able to enable the catch-all functionality for any e-mailbox that you create under the domain name. The Hepsia Control Panel’s Email Manager section includes quite a few functions, but it’s surprisingly simple to use, so creating a catch-all mailbox requires just a mouse click. All the email addresses that you’ve set up will be listed in this section in alphabetical order and you’ll only have to click the "Catch-all" button associated with the respective email address. Our system will alert you if there’s already another catch-all mailbox activated for that domain name or if the one that you’d like to be a catch-all mailbox has email forwarding enabled, so you can either deactivate the latter feature or select another mailbox. Deactivating the catch-all option is just as easy and takes one more click on the very same button.
Catch-all Emails in Semi-dedicated Servers
A catch-all email address can be configured with a few mouse clicks in case you have a semi-dedicated server with us. The semi-dedicated account will be administered through our in-house built Hepsia hosting Control Panel and you’ll be able to create email addresses under any domain hosted there. To enable the catch-all functionality for a certain mailbox, you will have to click on the symbol with the same name, which will be to the right of each mailbox. Disabling this option can be achieved in the very same manner and will not take more than one click either. If the catch-all option has already been enabled for a specific domain, you’ll get a warning text message. The same is valid if the mailbox that you want to be a catch-all one has email forwarding enabled, as our system will never change or deactivate any feature automatically.
